Or, if thinking alternatively and business wise (business is not as simple as, give something for free to get more sales), it is a test of their new expansion system to provide access weekends to promote sales. Its how some retail things work. Kind of like test-driving a car. Sure, you can test-drive as much as you want in the car you want, but unless you buy the thing, you aren't getting anywhere fast.

I am assuming they probably planned to do this regardless of the sales of GWEN itself. It is a good idea to test it with an expansion, as it wouldn't work so well (in my mind) or as fluently as doing it with the campaigns.

Honestly, do the people that are concerned with vanquishing GW:EN really care about double xp? It's not like it's a title track or useful for anything other than skill points. How many skill points does one need? My primary has over 500 with a few other characters over 200.

Come on, double xp is useless, give us double rep.
